Arts Award
Arts Award
The Arts Award is a national qualification which supports young people to develop as artists and arts leaders. Any young person aged 11-25 can achieve an Arts Award by developing their creativity and skills in their chosen art form. The Arts Award builds confidence, helps young people to enjoy cultural activities and prepares them for further education or employment.
Offered at Levels 1, 2 and 3 (Bronze, Silver and Gold) on the Qualifications and Credit Framework, Arts Award assesses how young people develop in their chosen arts activities rather than achievement of a specific level. They gain awards through work in any art form. This includes creative, technical and support roles.
As an Arts Award centre MPA are advising young people as they work towards their Bronze Arts Awards at three secondary schools and one primary school. The young people are working in school, at museums and art galleries and with drama practitioners, filmmakers, textile artists and through ‘creative journaling’.
