The Hide & Seek Rivers photography events will form the first project of MPA's partnership with Ribble Rivers Trust and will use creative photography to highlight the positive and the negative aspects of the rivers.

Hide & Seek Rivers Exhibition

Join us for the exhibition and event day which will take place between 10am-4pm on Saturday 12 October in Burnley town centre at the bandstand on St James Street.  The exhibition will showcase selected competition entries and work by the Photo Safari workshop leader Sam Reynolds from Shoot the Living.  All visitors on the day will have the chance to vote for their favourite photograph and help decide the 'People's Choice' award.  Alongside the exhibition you can find out more about the Burnley rivers and help pavement artists Urban Canvas create a giant chalk artwork, come along and take part.  The exhibition will then tour to local libraries.

Photo Safaris and Photography Workshops

MPA commissioned photographer Sam Reynolds to help local people seek out the hidden Rivers of Burnley and find the places where they travel through. They honed their photography skills to show both the beautiful and the not so beautiful aspects of the Brun and the Calder.  To view some of the resulting photographs visit the dedicated Flickr group.

Hide & Seek Rivers Photography Competition

MPA ran a competition to find the best and most interesting photographic shots of the Brun and the Calder. The competition was open to all and ran throughout June/July 2013. We were looking for pairs of images that highlight the good and the bad that our rivers have to offer at this present time. The competition had over 100 entries and you can see the 34 short listed images displayed in Burnley town centre on Saturday 12 October (see above).  The winning images will be announced after the exhibition along with the 'People's Choice' award that will be decided by the public.  See the exhibition page for the results.
