Project Triangle

The day was coordinated by nationwide project somewhereto_, in partnership with Burnley Borough Council and with assistance from Mid Pennine Arts.
somewhereto_, in media association with Channel 4 Education and the Olympic and Paralympic Games, have been causing a revolution across the UK by regenerating disused spaces and places for young talent aged 16–25.
This groundbreaking project lit up the iconic and historic location of the Weavers' Triangle with a creative storm of live performances, workshops and film premieres for all ages at Sandygate Square, Burnley.
Audiences saw diverse acts throughout the day including Mancunian acts Bright Shapes, a swinging acoustic trio and rapper ‘B’ (Billal Mahmood) who has secured his single on Tinie Tempah’s new album Coast 2 Coast, the most downloaded mixtape in the world. Home grown indie talent included Swamp Donkeys and heavy rock band SDR and master of dubstep and hard electro DJ ‘Mungo’ (Alex Walker-Ingham).
The day also saw the disused Neptune Pub transformed into a cinema as a film extravaganza presented by the region’s most aspiring young directors took place. For the grand finale a team of young cyclists peddled the spirit of the festival onwards to Skipton in a 25 mile journey that see the launch of special second edition of the Project Triangle event at the Skipton Community and Youth Centre.
