MPA is working with partners on future plans to celebrate and promote this wilderness area. Partner agencies include Lancashire Wildlife Trust, Groundwork Pennine Lancashire, Pennine Prospects, United Utilities and a number of local authorities.
The partnership aims to ensure that the West Pennine Moors are celebrated as an iconic place where inspirational visitor experiences and vibrant communities have come together to sustain the spectacular landscape, its wildlife and cultural heritage and in doing so make a significant contribution to the economic, social and environmental well-being of Lancashire and Greater Manchester.
Situated in the North West of England, the West Pennine Moors covers 90 square miles of rural Lancashire and Greater Manchester. The West Pennine Moors countryside provides a ‘wild space’ on the doorstep of Greater Manchester and many of the Lancashire towns.
